Moving To Lancaster: How To Get To 3 Airports Near Lancaster

One of the lesser-known perks of living in Lancaster, PA is the many air travel options available to residents. While our thriving community doesn’t have an international airport, it’s conveniently located near three of the area’s most popular airports:

How To Get To Harrisburg International Airport (HIA)

Harrisburg International Airport (HIA) is close enough for convenient air travel access for various popular US destinations – yet still far enough away to not bother you with airplane noise and traffic jams.

Located a little over 30 miles away just outside of the state’s capital, HIA offers flights to major cities in the Northeast, South, and Midwest, including Philadelphia, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Atlanta, and Dallas/Ft. Worth.

However, HIA is a popular resource for traveling to Florida’s most popular cities. Flyers can fly out of HIA and reach Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Sarasota, St. Petersburg, and Clearwater for vacation, spring break or to catch MLB spring training games.

Plus, American, Delta, United, and many of the country’s top-rated airlines provide service from HIA.

Traveling to HIA from The Lofts at Worthington takes just a little over 30 minutes!

How To Get To Philadelphia International Airport (PHI)

If you need to catch a domestic or international flight, you can do so via Philadelphia International Airport (PHI). A primary hub for the Northeastern US and the state’s largest airport, PHI is also one of the country’s busiest airports.

Located just outside of the city, PHI provides service to over 100 domestic destinations and close to 40 international destinations. Some of the major airlines operating out of PHI include American, Delta, Southwest, United, JetBlue, Air Canada, British Airways, Aer Lingus, Lufthansa, and Qatar Airways.

Although it’s a little further away than HIA, PHI offers a wide variety of travel options for Lancaster residents. The average drive time to PHI is 90 minutes.

How To Get To Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI)

One of three major airports serving the Baltimore/Washington area, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) is another option for Lancaster residents. BWI is a central hub for Southwest Airlines and draws a lot of travelers from the Lancaster, Philadelphia, and Harrisburg regions.

Located less than 10 miles outside of Baltimore, BWI, like PHI, is considered one of the country’s busiest airports. Domestic and international service is provided by a variety of top-flight airlines, including American, Delta, JetBlue, United, Spirit, Alaska, British Airways, Icelanair, and Air Senegal.

Although located in a different state, driving to BWI takes about the same amount of time as traveling to PHI from Lancaster. The average drive time to BWI is between 90 minutes to two hours.
